Practicalmomma does not live in a vacuum. I am well aware and touched by the tragedies taking place all over the world at present, particularly in Japan and New Zealand. However, practicalmomma generally chooses to exclude musings on these topics from her blog, so as to not turn it into a political soapbox.
Nonetheless, when I saw some ecoBritches AIO cloth diapers up for sale on eBay, with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the International Red Cross relief effort, I bit the bait and bought two. Practicalmomma loves worthy causes, whether it’s donating blood, Girl Scout cookies, or international crises.
What seems to be a long time ago (but in reality was mere months), practicalmomma sold off her stash of AIOs and pockets in exchange for her new love, AI2s. In retrospect, this was perhaps not the brightest idea. Though MY preference is geared towards my wants and needs, babysitters and Daddy are not always completely savvy with multiple snaps and parts (this is why we still have plenty of aplix closures in our house, though practicalmomma knows snaps weather the wash better). Practicalmomma thought these might make great backups to the regular stash.
eBay is second only to Diaperswappers in practicalmomma’s browsing history for deals on cloth dipes. I generally shy away from unknown brands or those shipped internationally, though the prices generally can’t be beat, because practicalmomma has never attempted an overseas return and frankly, practicalmomma does question the ethics of fair labor and quality of workmanship if something can be priced for less than just the cost of materials in the US.
A quick Google search indicates ecoBritches were domestically shipped from Missouri, and owned by Ausmerica. Further googling failed to produce any relevant information on this parent company, but practicalmomma has contacted the company in hopes of securing further information. eBay indicates my shipment should arrive by April 3, so practicalmomma will be happy to review these in the weeks following.
